Tanzania is the largest country in East AFrica. It has a population of over 55 million people. Outside the capital, Dar es Salaam, medical services can be patchy. Remote health centers frequently suffer from a lack of medicines.
We are working with the Medical Stores Department of Tanzania to optimize distribution routes to support reliable, on-time delivery of medicines to the last mile.
In 2010, Project Last Mile launched its first pilot program in Tanzania, which resulted in lasting relationships with leadership and management at Coca-Cola Kwanza and the Medical Stores Department. In 2017, Coca-Cola Kwanza and the Medical Stores Department welcomed Project Last Mile back to work on improving nationwide route delivery of medicines.
